BANGKOK DAY 3

Headed to Pratunam Market, which is just opposite our hotel after a hearty breakfast.

Another shopping paradise! I think it's quite similar to the 五分埔 in Taipei. But shopping in the outdoor is not easy at all, which got me a headache after walking for awhile.

And...we got out of Bangkok after lunch!

We went on a private tour with a local tour guide cum driver, she is around 60 years old and still very strong! Totally amazed~

Anyway, our first stop is a very popular market and many variety shows have filmed before. What's so special about this market? It actually operates on a railway track! How cool is that!

Lucky us, who managed to catch the train crossing the market in time! Not as thrilling as I had expected, but it was still an eye-opener for me. I did record a video of it, and you will get to see in the video diary I made for this trip~ Do look out for it! :)

This is better than our version in SG!!

Old school-ish.

After that, we visited two temples and the rain came! :(

They look super real from far!

We spent the rest of the day at Amphawa Floating Market.

So happy when I saw these statues! Don't know why, haha.

Okay, just trying hard to act cool with an umbrella in my hand~

Let my dad shows you the 'smile from ear to ear' kind of smile!

I really like how peaceful the place is, definitely something you won't get to enjoy in the city. So glad that we went there!

Some of the home-stay resorts over there seem so nice. Hopefully, I have the chance to stay in one next time!

Dinner was surprisingly good at this random place that we picked. Officially lovin' THAI ICED MILK TEA~

Afterwards, we hopped on a boat ride to catch fireflies!

All ready to go~

A pity that we could not snap any pictures of the fireflies, even after trying all sorts of methods. *sobs* But it was such an once-in-a-lifetime experience! :') No better way to end our last night of the trip.

Had a chocolate brownie magnum before we return our hotel. I would recommend the chocolate truffle one instead!

Thanks for reading! The next entry will be the last post for this trip, stay tuned!!

BANGKOK DAY 2

I always look forward to the breakfast buffet when I am overseas! I definitely ate more than this, but I only snapped this.

Off we go ~

I think we have not even explored the entire Platinum Mall yet! :/

Street food stalls outside Central World in the morning. We did not try any, though some of them looks really good!

These sandwiches only cost $0.80!

Some random shots.

We paid a visit to the famous 四面佛 while on our way to the BTS.

So rare to see almost no cars on the road. Bangkok jam is insane!

Hence, it will be less time-consuming to travel by the BTS.

The machines to purchase our train tickets.

And it looks like this!

Meet my daddy and mummy! <3

The interior of the BTS! I actually prefer it over the MRT in Singapore, cos I think it's more cosy and quiet!

On the boat to the temple. Unfortunately, it started pouring! :( The place was already flooded when we reached, so we literally walked in the water! Can't imagine how 狼狈 we were that time...

My sis and I wore shorts, so we had to put on this robe to go inside the temple.

Did not took much photos due to the rain, which drained away all our mood for the day or maybe just mine.

We quickly took the BTS back to Siam Station, before the rain comes again.

Headed to MBK Mall's food court for lunch. I had my favourite thai food order in SG, totally satisfied! The food court in MBK is almost the same as the one in Platinum Mall, even the food they sell are about the same.

While my dad went for massage, we searched the mall for a place to do our nails. In the end, we found out that they are all located at level 2 through the information counter. (Each level has a kind of 'theme' in MBK.) We decided on this shop named Red Nails, cause it seems pretty established and professional. Their rates are not super duper cheap, but definitely cheaper than most in SG.

What's more? You get serve while sitting on a massage chair! Ultimate shiok-ness! I picked bright orange, and glad that it turned out well!

P.S. This photo was taken when I was back.

You can purchase all the local snacks/titbits from MBK Mall at the upper levels! Don't expect to get much clothes from there, probably only bags and shoes.

After that, we roamed around siam area as we wait for dinner time! Went to Somtam Nua, got to know this place through a famous food blogger. It is located along a street beside Siam Staion, opposite of Siam Paragon. We ordered most of the food she recommended, and I think it was kinda over-rated!

This was the best among all the dishes we ordered! It's quite similar to the prawn paste chicken (虾酱鸡) in SG.

Sadly, the fish wasn't as shiok as it looks.

This is definitely not as good as tom yum soup! But they gave a generous amount of the pork bones though.

Somtam means 'papaya salad' in thai, and the restaurant serve various kinds of it. This was what we ordered, but not really to my personal liking.

This plate of rice noodles was better than how it looks! However, it's not the kind of that will makes you keep on eating on it...

That's all I have for day 2! Stay tuned for the next post! :)
